The LBD

Wedding season is in full swing and I am sure some of you are in the same dilemma as me: Do I buy a new dress for each wedding I go to this year. The answer is ‘no’. You get yourself a quality, classy, timeless LBD!

Since Coco Chanel introduced it in 1926, it has become a timeless piece that flatters every figure. It is the answer to any wardrobe-choice crisis and every woman should own one.
In October 1926 Coco Chanel published a picture of a short, simple black dress in American Vogue. Vogue called it “Chanel’s Ford”.  Vogue said that the LBD would become “a sort of uniform for all women of taste”. As always, Vogue was right!

The little black dress was simple and accessible for women of all social classes and continues to be extremely popular to this day. Subdued in nature yet classically timeless across generations, it is a staple that is constantly being recreated.
Chosen correctly the LBD can be worn for years. It can be dressed up or down. Wear with pumps and a blazer for day time and add a pair of heels, more ornate jewelry and a clutch for evening.
When choosing which dress to buy, I definitely recommend you spend a little more on this staple as quality will go a long way.
